COMMUNITY UPDATE 3.14.25
PET RETREAT CLOSURE – UPDATE
The 5th floor pet retreat area will be closed until further notice. The old turf has been
removed and the area has been deep cleaned, the next step is to install new turf.
Unfortunately, installation cannot begin until there is no rain in the forecast as the
adhesive needs time to dry. During this time, dogs will need to be taken outside and away
from the building to be relieved.
FINANCIAL COMMITTEE & RULES COMMITTEE
The Board is looking for a couple owners to volunteer to serve on each of these
committees. If you are interested, please email Jabbear Swinton, GM at
jswinton@actionlife.com stating which committee you are interested in. A short bio of
why you would like to serve on the committee is recommended.
FOOD DELIVERY SURVEY RESULTS
There were 158 comments submitted to the Board on the proposed change to the food
delivery rules for the community. 57% were opposed to a change while 43% were in
favor of the change. The Board took the comments into consideration and voted against
changing the food delivery rules for the community.
ELECTRONIC VOTING
There was no opposition from the community to add electronic voting to the election
rules. The Board moved forward to approve electronic voting for the community.
ONGOING BUILDING MAINTENANCE
• The material for the 4th floor glass awning repair will arrive on Thursday,
March 27, 2025 and be installed on Monday, March 31, 2025.
COMPLETED BUILDING MAINTENANCE
• Dry sauna repair

WINDOW WASHING – RESCHEDULED
Window washing has been rescheduled due to equipment repair. We will send
out an updated schedule as soon as we have it.
WATER METER BATTERY REPLACEMENT
There are water meters in units that are not properly reporting water usage because
of dead or low battery. The Board voted last night for the vendor Experienced
Meter Services LLC to replace all 285 in-unit water meter batteries. The
process will be similar to when we need access for the Annual Fire Inspection of
sprinklers. We will be contacting each resident to see how they would like to grant
access for the battery change. We are looking to schedule a month in advance so it
gives us time to contact all the residents. The vendor will provide a schedule that
we will then provide to you. You can either provide a key, grant us access to use
your emergency key or be home to allow entry. Lena will be your point of contact,
so please let her know how you will grant access for the battery replace.
Lena’s email address is lkayed@actionlife.com
GENERATOR LOAD TEST
The generator load test has been rescheduled for Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
There will be no moves or deliveries scheduled that day as it could effect the
operation of the elevators. It is possible that the switch over may also impact the front
desk computer and phone system. If this does occur and you need to contact the front
desk please call or text the front desk cell phone at 619-904-5445.
OPTIONAL ANNUAL FIRE DRILL
On Friday, March 28, 2025 staff will be completing the annual fire drill training.
We would like to invite any residents that would like to participate to join us. We
will meet in the lobby at 10am. The purpose of this training is to simulate our exit
strategy in case of an emergency.
SOCIAL LOUNGE FURNITURE
The benches in the Social Lounge will be removed and reupholstered March 18-23.
No reservations will be taken for parties during this time. Savina residents can still
access and use the Social Lounge while the furniture is out for reupholstery.
COMMUNITY PRINTER
The community printer is for the use of every resident in the community. It is a
wonderful convenience to have, but we are currently running over budget based on the
usage of ink. The printer was not meant for large scale copies that go over 100-200
copies on one visit. The toner cartridges are estimated to provide 1500 copies before
they need to be replaced. The Association kindly requests that residents keep their
copying needs to around 25-pages per visit as that will ensure a longer life of the toner
cartridges.
POOL/BBQ AREA FURNITURE
The Board approved a new design and cost of furniture from the vendor Cultura. There
will be poster boards placed in the Social Lounge for residents to view the design and
new furniture.
MASTER BEDROOM SHOWER DRAINS
The master shower is equipped with a hair catcher that must be maintained on a weekly
basis to ensure the shower drains properly and does not backup. To clean the hair
catcher, the metal grate must first be removed by using a flat object (flathead
screwdriver works well) to pry the grate open. Once the metal grate is removed, there is
a circular hole (hair catcher) in the middle of the drain. Pull it up from the handle and
remove any material from the hair catcher and dispose in the trash can. Place the hair
catcher back in place then the metal grate and repeat this maintenance on a weekly basis.
